Camden has been taking a few steps here and there recently. He just turned 10 days ago. I've been trying to coax him to walk to me when I am near him. I'll hold my arms out and tell him to come over to me. He usually turns, smiles, and thinks about it for a few seconds and he either tries or crawls instead.
Yesterday he actually took 5 steps towards me. I noticed that he is also initiating standing by himself. He will grab onto something then purposely let go and stand there. I think he is just becoming more comfortable and realizing that he can do it. Before I would hold his hands and then let go quick and he would stand for a few counts but not realize he was doing it. Now he realizes it and seems so proud when he does. Of course I make a big deal about it too. So I think that within the next month maybe I will have a walker!
Alexandra was the same way. She started out with 2 or 3. Then took 5. Then 10. Then she walked across the room. And she started walking around 13 months as well so maybe he will do the same. If he does start walking at 13 months I can finally say that they actually DO have something in common!
