In the fall Alexandra participated in a soccer program called Soccer Shots that was available at her school. This was a great intro to soccer but I wanted to get her into a program where she could play games and learn some more skills. In the program she was in during the Spring there were 6 teams and all of the kids worked together on drills and skills together before breaking off into teams for mini games of 5 v. 5. Even though this was a good experience for her I still feel like I want more - I want her to learn the rules of soccer, have practices, and play in regular games.Sure, she is only almost 5 but that is when I started playing too. It seems like she really enjoys soccer and she did pretty well on her team. Out of the 13 goals her team scored in which she was present she scored 9. At this point it's still what I like to call "magnet ball" - you know, a ball and all 5 players chasing after it.
After her "season" she received a medal and a team picture....of course she was the only person not looking at the camera (taking her picture these days is hard...she wants to look anywhere but at the person taking the picture...see example below! )
