Camden is 17 months! I actually just realized it a few days ago...this is about the time when you start forgetting "month birthdays". Next month he will be one and a half - so hard to believe!!!
Our little man has such a great personality. He still tends to be a very happy toddler, giggling and smiling a lot but boy does he let you know when he is angry! He's at the phase where he is continuing to learn about his independence and about things he can and cannot do. So of course we are looking out for him and when we don't let him do certain things he gets a tad upset. Oh well. He'll learn to get over it!
As we were on vacation he picked up a new word: Golf cart! On Bald Head Island you only drive around on golf carts so after 4 days of that he picked up that word pretty quickly!
These are some things I notice about Camden:
How he goes to the fridge or pantry and will stand there and say "eat" waiting for a snack. If the pantry is open the little stinker goes and gets his own snacks....I need to keep a lock on it!
He will pretend to sleep if I lay out a blanket and will pretend to snore....with his eyes open.
Each night before I put him to bed I give him his blankie, his monkey, and I say "Goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" and then I say "I love you" and he has started repeating back "I love you" back.
If I give him something and say "here you go" he'll say "thank you"
He will play with the Alex's baby dolls and say "baby" and then hug them when I say "awwwwww"
He has started leaping forward onto pillows on the floor or the bed and thinks it is the funniest thing ever.
He loves to "read" his animal books. He is learning new animal names and today was trying to say "gorilla"
He now gives you the hairy eyeball and will play all shy and look down and then look up and giggle. Like he's playing you.
If papa is around Camden can be found attached to his hip....he just loves his Papa! (Of course we all know he loves all of us but it's so sweet to see him with Papa)
He really started waving without being told to. I love watching him flop his arm up and down to wave!
He still loves playing ball and still loves his cars, trucks, and trains!
He will sing (the best he can) "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
He can go down the steps with assistance (and even without.....not that I try to let that happen...he just happened to go down 4 steps on his own a few weeks ago!)
He is still obsessed with the vacuum and has become less obsessed with outlets and the toilet!
He is getting really good at using a spoon by himself with little mess! He only gets messy when he tries to grab yogurt or applesauce with his fingers instead of using the spoon. He needs some more work with the fork but he loves trying to poke the food.
If Alex leaves a juice box or food near the edge of the table I need to come behind her and get it because most likely Camden will climb up on the chair and help himself!
There are many more things I love about my little man but let's face it....it's almost 12:30 am and most likely he'll wake up at 6 right on cue for some milk before going back to bed!
I'm looking forward to watching him grow even more this next month!
