18 Months Old

One and a half. 6 months away from 2. 18 months. No matter how I say it I still can't believe that Camden is growing up so fast. He has such a wonderful personality and today actually Chris asked if I thought Camden or Alex was easier as a baby/toddler. I said that they both were "easy" but in different ways. Camden seems to be able to go anywhere without getting upset and doesn't get upset as much as Alex did (although she had a pretty good temperament as well). Alex was easier in that she kind of left things alone and wasn't as adventurous (climbing on everything, obsessed with the DVD player, etc).

Camden is really adding more and more words to his vocabulary. I have been keeping a list on my phone and each day or two I add a new word that he will say on his own.) These days he is into the shape sorter, stacking blocks, and of course cars, planes, trains and anything with wheels. He also loves doing what Alex is doing. If she is coloring he wants to color, if she is eating he wants to eat, if she is running around the house he wants to play too. It's cute watching them play together but with them playing together there is also some issues with sharing. I'm trying to teach him about taking turns and sharing. If Alex has something he wants to play with he may just start fussing and look at me, hoping I intervene, or he starts flapping his arms if he gets upset. He's also started to run a little bit.

He has started giving me nose kisses and will just give me hugs too. He has been going up and down the steps with help and as I walked in front of him he also walked down the steps on his own. When we get home from riding in the car he wants to walk into the house by himself and not have me carry him in. He still just loves being outside.

With Alex starting preschool again I'm excited to have some 1-1 time with him. I want to really start working on colors, numbers, ABC's and other things that I worked on with Alex at this age. He does recognize and say yellow and circle. We're working on the rest! And if he sees letters he points to them and starts singing the ABC song. So I guess that's a start!

I love my little man and I'm looking forward to all of the fun moments we have to look forward to.
