21 Months

Camden just recently turned 21 months....I guess the countdown is on until his 2nd birthday! I can't even really believe that he's turning two in a few months. His vocabulary just continues to grow and grow with more phrases being added in. He understands what I say and I understand what he says, although to others it may at times sound like gibberish.

One of the most recent things he has started doing is saying "Mommy, come here" and he will pull me or my shirt to follow him. He has started saying "Bless you" when I sneeze and "You're welcome" is one of his favorites as well. He will say please and thank you once prompted and then after a few prompts will say it on his own.

I think he sleep talks...The other night I walked in to check on him because he was crying (he has been stuffy) and he was whining, and then said "Max", who is our Elf on the Shelf. He always points to Max and says his name. He has also said "Lorelei" in the middle of sleep. She's his BFF and I guess not only does he say her name a million times a day but also in his sleep!

He has been having some temper tantrums lately. Within the past month he lets you know if he doesn't want to do something. Usually heading out the door has taken extra long because he wants to walk to/from the car just as Alex did at his age and when it's time to get into the car he'll arch his back and protest unless I quickly direct his attention. I've learned through a few times how to get him to calm down and I've even just buckled his top part of the harness and sat up front waiting for him to calm down and then after his little outburst he's ready to go.

He also will sit down if he doesn't want to go somewhere....I'm waiting for the tantrums where he lays on the floor and wails, kicks, and screams. He has had a timeouts and is learning that he doesn't like timeout which currently is held in his crib for 1.5 minutes. I found that he has also been biting his lips/cheeks and I'm not quite sure if this is related to tantrums or just because he's getting two new incisor teeth.

He has been putting up a bit of a fight as well when it's time for bed. Our bedtime routine has become a bit different because now after his bath he just calls out for "Daddy" until he comes up and says goodnight or reads or whatever. That's fine with me but I'm thinking I just need to have Chris put him to bed so all is well!
He also will say "Mommy's Bed or Daddy's Bed" because he wants to lay in our bed.

He has still been waking through the night....he just got over a cold but now I'm ready for him to go back to sleeping. The past few days he has also woken up at 5:30-5:45 and doesn't really go back to sleep. I don't get him until 6 at the earliest but last night I just let him cry a bit and he ended up going back to sleep until almost 8!

Although he can be a little stinker at times he still can be very sweet, kind, and still sensitive and I just love him so much!
