For Easter we went up to Sherman's Dale to spend the weekend with family. We headed up Saturday before Easter and went straight to an Easter egg hunt at a local church at 10, which means we were out the door at 7:45 A.M. - pretty impressive for the 4 of us! So we went to the event and the kids had fun before the hunt making a necklace and petting and looking at baby bunnies and goats. Afterwards, the kids went egg hunting and they both did well. Camden got a few eggs and Alex filled her whole bucket. We got enough candy in that hunt to last us a while. In fact, we still have a bit left.
After the hunt the kids were able to play on the awesome playground and the weather was absolutely beautiful. After a little rest back at Nana and Papa's house we headed back down to Aunt Sharon and Uncle Tom's house for dinner and to visit with the Slingerland cousins from Buffalo. We ended our evening with dessert at Sweet Frog - I'm pretty sure the kids thought it was a perfect day.
On Easter morning the kids woke up to see their Easter Baskets and we just hung out during the morning at Nana and Papa's. Then, again, we went down to the England's house to have a brunch and from there we were on the road back home. Below are some pictures from our weekend.
Alex making a necklace
Camden and Alex looking at bunnies
Petting the bunny
After the egg hunt...Alex's bucket is overflowing. I think Camden picked up 5 or 6 eggs
Picture time with the Easter Bunny - Camden kept saying "Bunny!!!"
Camden loved the playground and running free!
Having fun!
Rock the boat
Chris vs. the Slingerland kids
Alex enjoyed playing in the back yard
This picture wasn't from the Easter weekend but it's the only picture I got of us dyeing eggs (because Camden decided to just start throwing them into the cups!)
Alex's first time walking a dog
The kids' Easter baskets - Camden finally got a pair of rain boots so he doesn't need to wear Alex's pink ones around anymore. Alex got a soccer ball because this is her first year playing soccer "games"
It wouldn't be a trip to Papa's without some kind of tractor ride!
