Camden turned 10 months today. Wow. Another month, gone. 2 more months until he is 1. That's craaaaaazy! I love watching him grow but these months are scary! He's learned how to pull himself up on pretty much anything and well I'm thinking that he may need a helmet! The boy scares me. He has no fear. Although recently he has started to learn how to get down more carefully. While sitting next to him while he was standing he took his hands off of what he was holding onto and was holding on with just one hand. So I held his hand and told him he was going to go "boom" as in he would fall if he didn't hold on with both hands. Well, he thought it was a fun game so now if I am near him he'll hold on with just one hand and plop himself down on his bottom (but he doesn't always do that so gracefully)
He still is just the happiest baby and he still remains a total opposite from his sister. Some of the things he has done that Alex did do are:
climbing up the stairs at an early age
Standing up in his crib when he should be napping
He goes crazy over the vacuum (Alex was scared)
I suppose there are a few things they have in common - he, like her, pulls himself up on the entertainment center which means we had to move the tv all the way back and move the xbox up too. Although, when standing he can still turn it on and off! Some of his other favorite "pull-up" spots are the train table, Alex's desk, our chairs at our table, and the pantry shelf.
He is cruising a little bit. He will walk with his walker toy but I have to hold onto it to make sure he doesn't push too hard. But he will take steps while holding onto things. He's totally not standing on his own yet. The Dr. said he thought he'd be walking before 1 but his balance is still off. I guess it takes some getting used to and 2 months for development is a long time so who knows. Alex first walked when she was 13 months so we will see.
He currently is eating all of the food we eat. He now has 5 teeth and I still give him a few purees mixed with cereal for breakfast but other than that he's eating all table food. And the boy likes to eat and he likes almost all food that we've given him. He's had different kinds of meat (turkey, chicken, ground beef, and pork), he's had peas, zucchini, broccoli, and carrots from the table, and he still loves bananas. He's had a variety of other foods too. I can't wait to see what he does on his first birthday with his cake. My prediction is he is going to LOVE it. Alex was very shy and just picked a bit at hers. I predict Camden will go in with both hands!
Sleep is not such a good subject. He is still waking 1-2 times a night and it's just a habit to feed him. I am going to be doing some sleep training now that he is 10 months. I wanted to wait until after the holidays. It's going to be hard but I really need to get some uninterrupted sleep.
He continues to make a lot of sounds but one word he does say now and mean it is mama. He understands when I say I am making him a bottle too. He waves (I can't remember without looking back if he did this at the last update), he is starting to clap, and he really does like playing with Alex. It will be cute when they can run around together!
As I always say, I can't wait to see what he'll learn to do this next month!
