A Little Bug's Life: Easter

This year for Easter we went up to Nana and Papa's house and we had a great time! We went up Friday morning since Chris had off of work. We were able to just hang out and relax at the house which was nice. Saturday was our super busy day! Of course I was up at 7 with the kids...actually...Camden decided it would be fun to wake at 5:45 and not go back to sleep (even though I laid him back down) and so I was up with him at 6:30. Around 9 we left for an Easter Egg Hunt at a local church in Mechanicsburg. There were kids' activities, that we didn't do because the lines were too long, Alex saw the Easter Bunny (Camden was afraid of him!) and the kids participated in the egg hunt. And it was quite a profitable hunt! Alyssa found an egg with a $50 bill in it and another egg with $10! Alex found an egg with $20. When the guy announcing said if you get a bill with writing on it you may win a basket we were thinking $1 dollar bills !

She also got a TON of candy...which is now in our pantry and is NOT helping with me trying to lose a few pounds! I know, it's not the candy's fault, it's all mine. I always give into the temptation and make excuses...like "I'll start losing some weight once all of the candy is gone..." I'm seriously about ready to just go throw it all away!!!!!!

Well after our hunt, we went over to Aunt Tricia's, Uncle Bob's and Alyssa's house and then hung out until we had to leave for pictures. We had some lunch, the girls played, and I was fighting off a cold and sneezing like crazy because of allergies. Camden still hadn't had a nap at this point besides falling asleep in the car 10 minutes. He was fine playing at the house but then it was time to pack up and go get pictures taken for Easter. Camden fell asleep in the car again and I had to wake him and dress him. Fun stuff.

We were on time for our appointment but didn't get in until about a half hour after our scheduled time. And I didn't bring my iPad and my phone screen was broken. Oh no! Thank goodness Uncle Bob had his phone and a few episodes of Peppa Pig kept the girls' entertained. Camden just wanted to crawl all over the place but I wouldn't let him because he had on brand new white pants for the pictures.

Well after the photo session (of which is super hard anyways trying to get 3 kids under the age of 4 to look at the camera and smile, naturally) we had to choose the pictures. By that time Camden was over tired, cranky, and the girls were getting antsy as well. A quick trip to Turkey Hill for slushies solved that and during the shoot they were actually really well behaved. (Alex just decided to give her "cheese" face for the pictures and wasn't smiling naturally for most) I guess that's my fault too because I always had her say cheese when really she should be saying "applesauce" to open her mouth and smile!

We headed back up to Nana and Papa's and met Titi and Nona and had some dinner. The kids played outside on the bouncy house in the beautiful weather. 6:30 rolled around and Camden went right to sleep and slept all the way through the night! The kid was so tired!!!! Alex slept well too! We had such a busy day.

Then on Sunday the Easter Bunny came and dropped off baskets for the kids. He ate the carrots we left at the front door too. We also celebrated Chris's birthday since it was on Sunday. We had Easter dinner and ice cream and cake for dessert. We headed back around Camden's second nap time and he slept the whole way home! He also took a morning nap too before Easter dinner. One thing I learned is that the boy needs his naps!

So although it was a super busy weekend it was a good one! And now for the pictures!
