Usually for dinner I just see what meat we have in the freezer and think of what we could have for dinner. Well after finding yet MORE blogs that I love I found a site where people show their meal plans for the week.
One of them is here. There are TONS of posts so there are a lot of ideas so I thought I would give it a try. It seems that I am also cooking many of the same things every couple of weeks. I want to try to cook some different foods, use the slow cooker more often, and try to have a well balanced meal including sides.
This can be super hard though. I sometimes can't find the time to even cook a main dish let alone side dishes. Yes, these days I rely on steam fresh veggies that take 5 minutes in the microwave. When I look at the menu plans these moms make not only do they include a main dish and usually 1-2 sides, but some also include dessert.
It's going to be baby steps for me. I need to remember I am not super mom. So the first thing I am going to do is find some meals I can make with the food that I already have. Chris just went food shopping today and I didn't have the time to look through all of these meal plans with specialty ingredients. And I did, after all, just decide to try this out today.
After reading blogs about people doing this it seems it makes their life easier. They don't think at 4 PM...hmmmm what should I cook tonight for dinner (as I sometimes do!!!). I am hoping that I can keep up with this and that I can share some good finds for meals with you too.
Here is what I am going to try to make this week:
Monday: Hamburgers and corn on the cob
Tuesday: Bruschetta Chicken and pasta
Wednesday: Cheese stuffed meatloaf
Thursday: Leftovers from Tuesday and Wednesday
Friday: Hot Sausage
