A Mini Tree

This year for Christmas we thought it would in our best interest (and more so Camden's) to get a fake Christmas tree. We do love going out and picking out a real live tree but I thought that it would be too much maintenance to try to keep the needles up off of the carpet. Camden is pretty fast and he puts everything in his mouth these days so I just didn't want to risk it. I'm glad we didn't because like I predicted he is at that tree a lot but at least now I can watch him over there and not be afraid he is going to swallow needles.

Alexandra still had a great time decorating the tree. As soon as we brought it home (from Walgreens!) she wanted to decorate it but we told her we would wait until it was dark out because it was so beautiful outside she should go out with Chris and play. I needed to fix the branches anyways so that it didn't look like the little tree on  the Charlie Brown Christmas show. After getting the lights and ornaments on it I think it looks nice...it's just super skinny! Oh an we need to hold it down with a bag of ice melt so that it doesn't tip over. I just need to get a tree skirt to hide the bag of salt and then we will be good to go!

We gave Camden some Jingle Bells to keep him occupied as we decorated the tree

I think Camden may be here a lot during the day
 There he goes again
 and again
I decorated the mantle too - now all we need is another stocking for Camden. Alexandra's stocking is hanging on some garland I made out of clothespins, buttons, and ribbon. This will double as a Christmas card  holder and it will hold our advent activity cards which will count down the days until Christmas.
