1 Week Old

So today Camden is 1 week old. We had his first Dr. appointment on Tuesday and he had lost weight since his discharge. He weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz at that appointment so the doctor wanted us to come back today - 3 days later - to check his weight again. Well he gained 5 oz in 3 days so that was a good weight gain. He still isn't up to his birth weight yet but he is only 2 oz away. So we go back Monday for one more check. This will be my first solo outing with both kids. Just hoping to goes well!

Today we had some great weather so we were able to go outside for a bit. Alexandra played with her friend Elle and I was pushing Camden in the stroller. It was beautiful out. He is starting to have more awake time which is nice. The boy likes to sleep right now though. When Chris came home last night from work he asked what Camden did that day - and I said - well, he ate, he slept, he pooped. He went in the swing (and slept), we sat him in the bouncer (sleep) and I did have him on his tummy for a bit for some tummy time. As I am typing this he is sleeping. Hoping that he continues to sleep well through the night. He sleeps for 3 hour stretches and at times 4. He wakes to eat, I change his diaper, and he goes right back to sleep. So far it's going well with his "routine" - he is pretty predictable at this point. He doesn't tend to be fussy unless you change his diaper (when he is still hungry/tired) or you change his clothes. He is great during diaper changes if he has just eaten or has been up for a while. But the whole taking off his clothes he doesn't like. I also gave him a quick sponge bath the other night and will again tonight. Now I thought for sure this would upset him - but no - he was just looking around all wide eyed as I washed him. I did keep him mostly dressed though and just uncovered the part of his body I needed to wash. So taking care of him has been super easy. It's dealing with Alexandra (and her tantrums) that is more trying for me. But that is a whole other post which I probably won't even write about because it's negative! Let's just say she is really trying my patience and I've seen more tantrums this week than I have in her whole life time. It's a big change for her and I understand that but man if this keeps up I am going to be worn out!

Here are some pictures from our week
Alex wouldn't look at the camera - or else she would look quickly and I was too slow!

It's me first St. Patty's day (and I am sleeping t away)
Quick....get the camera.....his eyes are open!!

One tired little girl

I don't think tummy time s supposed to go like this

In the swing.....sleeping again
I guess the swing puts everyone to sleep.
