Now That's a First!

I always write down when one of the kids has a "first" thing.......first smile, first roll, first time sitting up...........but today I'll have to add "first earthquake" to the list. Of course everyone reading this is aware of the aftershocks we felt here in PA from the earthquake but I wanted to document it since this blog also serves as a memory book for our family. 

So I was up in the nursery feeding Camden. Alex was laying in the room too with one of Camden's blankets and we felt the shake. The whole house shook. Blinds, walls, the chair I was sitting in. While it happened Alex was said "Mommy what is that????" and hid under the blanket. I told her it was just the washing machine which was running at the time. The machine has gone off center before when I've washed comforters and I thought that was what happened. It did seem odd to me that the whole house shook!!! 

Then I go downstairs and saw a text from Amy asking if we were ok and that she heard on Facebook about the earthquake. The what???????? Ohhhhhhhh so that's what it was!! Yeah we felt it, we were ok, and totally calm.........because I didn't even realize what it was. 

I  hadn't had the tv on or my computer so then I went onto Facebook and sure enough about 90 percent of the people posting posted "Did you feel that??" "Am I crazy or did my house just shake?" "Was that an earthquake??" 

Glad I wasn't alone in not realizing what it was. It's not everyday that we feel an earthquake in PA. So that was a first................for all of us! Chris said he felt it too at work but thought nothing of it either. 

What a weird feeling!
