Christmas Candy Lane in Hershey

The night before Thanksgiving we decided to go to Christmas Candy Lane in Hershey. We have gone there a few times before but this year was especially fun because Alexandra rode the rides (which also means we got our money's worth!). Chris, Alex, and I left our house a little early to beat all of the Thanksgiving traffic so we arrived about an hour before we were supposed to meet everyone. So, we headed over to the outlets. Bad news was that they were closing that evening at 5, which is when we got there. So we went into Starbucks and I got a peppermint hot chocolate to pass some time. We hung out in there for a good 30 minutes or so and then headed over to Chocolate World to hang out until everyone else arrived. It was nice because there were not alot of people there. In fact we didn't have to wait at all to ride the Chocolate World ride. Alex kept her hands over her eyes most of the time like she was scared. She's been on it before and was fine but it's been a while so maybe she didn't remember what happened. After we were done she said "That was fun!!" (Could have fooled me the way she hid the whole time!) And the best part.....getting our free sample of Reese's Mini PB cups afterwards! We walked around a little and visited a Chocolate Cottage, made totally out of Hershey Candy. It was really neat!!!

Then we met the rest of the group and headed into Candy Lane. I thought for sure that Alex wouldn't even want to ride any rides since the last two times we went to Knoebel's she wouldn't go near the rides. But Papa got in line for the train because the other kids were riding and it turned out Alex loved it! She wanted to ride again and again. And not just the train ride either. Every kid ride she saw she wanted to ride. She even rode on one by herself which is a HUGE deal considering how afraid she was of even riding with an adult. She rode the train, different cars, dinosaurs, ladybug ride, and her favorite, the carousel. At first she just went on one of the seats where she sat with Chris but later she wanted to ride the horses that moved up and down.

After riding some rides we went to see a light show (interrupted by a sprint to take her to the nearest bathroom) and then we went to see Santa's reindeer. Overall it was a really fun time!
